Sreynet is continuing her hospitality studies while developing front desk, bakery, language and independent living skills for a self-determined future.
Hospitality and front desk training
Sponsorship contributes to shared housing, daily living, transport, continued training and regular DYP follow-up during the project year.
Sreynet joined the DYP Learning Center after having had very limited access to formal education. Through DYP, she began building foundational knowledge, practical skills and confidence while discovering new possibilities for her future.
After two years at DYP, Sreynet passed the English entrance test for the École d’Hôtellerie et de Tourisme Paul Dubrule (EHT). She is now developing hospitality and front desk skills while continuing bakery, assistive technology and language learning at DYP.
During the Semi-Independent Living Project year, Sreynet will continue her studies at EHT while taking greater responsibility for her schedule, travel, shared household duties and daily decisions. Regular DYP guidance will help her connect classroom learning with the practical routines required for independent adult life.
“To me, true independence means developing the self-confidence and self-reliance to live one’s life without depending on others.”Sreynet
Her current pathway combines hospitality education, vocational practice and language development with the practical skills needed for employment and independent living.
Developing guest service, communication, organisation and practical front desk responsibilities.
Building practical bakery experience, work routines, teamwork and confidence in a vocational setting.
Strengthening English while continuing to learn French and Chinese for study, work and wider opportunities.
Using assistive technology while practising budgeting, travel, time management and everyday decision-making.
After completing her studies with EHT and DYP, Sreynet plans to find employment, gain practical hospitality experience and continue her education. The Semi-Independent Living Project will help her build the routines, confidence and responsibility needed to move toward this goal.
Complete her training, gain practical work experience and continue learning toward stable, independent employment.
