Pich is building practical bakery skills alongside traditional and modern music, English, assistive technology and independent living as he prepares for work and a more self-reliant future.
Bakery & Music
Sponsorship contributes to shared housing, daily living, transport, continued training and regular DYP follow-up during the project year.
Pich joined the DYP Learning Center after several years without access to further education or training. At DYP, he learned Braille, which gave him greater access to learning and a stronger foundation for independence.
He now specialises in bakery and traditional and modern music. His pathway combines hands-on baking, musical performance and music theory with continued English and assistive technology learning.
During the Semi-Independent Living Project year, Pich’s primary responsibility is working in the bakery. He will also manage more of his schedule, travel, shared household duties, budgeting and daily decisions with regular DYP guidance.
“Living independently, self-reliant, with little support from others when possible.”Pich
His current pathway combines bakery, traditional and modern music, English and assistive technology with the practical skills needed for employment and independent living.
Building hands-on skills in food preparation, baking routines, hygiene, teamwork and everyday bakery operations.
Developing musical performance, rhythm and music theory while continuing to explore traditional and modern styles.
Using Braille to read and write independently while continuing to strengthen English and access learning materials.
Using assistive technology while practising budgeting, travel, time management, household responsibilities and everyday decision-making.
Pich plans to build a stable working future through bakery and music. He hopes to continue strengthening his practical skills, earn an income independently and use music to encourage younger people, including children with disabilities.
Apply his bakery training in employment while continuing to grow as a musician and contribute positively to his community.
Sponsorship supports the practical conditions Pich needs to continue bakery practice, music training, English study and skill development while practising real-world independence with DYP guidance.
A stable community-based living environment where daily responsibilities can be practised.
Support for meals and essential living needs while students learn to manage a household budget.
Access to vocational practice, education and the community activities required for progress.
Regular DYP coaching, monitoring and reflection to strengthen confidence and responsibility.
