Bakery & Music
Sponsorship contributes to shared housing, daily living, transport, continued training and regular DYP follow-up during the project year.
After several years without access to further education or training, Mek joined the DYP Learning Center and received the second chance to learn that he had long hoped for. He strengthened his Braille reading and writing, giving him greater access to learning and a stronger foundation for independence.
He now specialises in bakery and traditional and modern music, including practical baking, musical performance and music theory. He also continues developing English and assistive technology skills to prepare for employment and future teaching opportunities.
During the Semi-Independent Living Project year, Mek’s primary responsibility is working in the bakery, where he can gain consistent hands-on experience. He will also take greater responsibility for his schedule, travel, shared household duties, budgeting and everyday decisions with regular DYP guidance.
