Our Future Plans
Nationwide there are far more children and adolescents with severe visual impairments than in school places. Only 1.3% of an estimated 15.100 aged
between 0 -24 years of age are currently going to school.
DYP was able to purchase 10,603 m2 of land for an adequate Learning Center to be built.
The following is what we envision for our future center:
DYP would like to build a bigger Learning Center to help more people with visual impairments
in the province of Siem Reap, Cambodia and other provinces as feasible, by providing educational support, skills training, and different vocational training opportunities.
Pre-School and School
- To set up center-based preschool classes in contribution to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD).
- To provide grade one and two classes for students with visual impairments.
- To provide service for (re)integration into inclusive education.
- To offer access to adequate and inclusive education at public schools.
- To offer educational support in addition to the national curriculum.
Income Earning Projects
- To assist with formation of Self-Help Groups (SHG) .
- Provide initial funding for small businesses.
- Providing access to vocational courses.
Others
- Assist in building local and international networks.
